One thing that will remain consistent in our collections, however, is the uncompromising quality and durability of our products and the emphasis we place on achieving our bold mission to create ultra-luxe items that are not compromising on our environment.
In pursuit of this aim, our brand only sources ethical and sustainable suppliers and ensures that our leather and materials come from Italy and are designed and manufactured in Europe, maintaining the region’s longstanding tradition of fine craftsmanship. In this way we not only reduce our footprint but also support our local tanneries, which will always remain important to our small business with big dreams.
The reality is that only about one fifth of the leather in the world is being produced in European tanneries, where uncompromising environmental and safety standards along with sustainable processes are standard requirements. For this reason, utilizing factories that work within the framework set up by SEDEX results in superior quality and long lasting materials, which warrants the title of a genuine luxury product.
What’s more is that Cocoona’s leather is a by-product of the meat industry, meaning that you can rest assured that no animal is harmed for the leather we use. Leather tanning is, in fact, the oldest form of recycling without which, the world would see a hugely detrimental environmental impact.
